Altaholics and Starting Over On a New Server

How do you start over? All the work you have put into your main character and the little alts you have, how can you possibly leave them behind? My answer to this is I don't. I always come back to them. It is just so much fun to me to start over on a new server. I find it very refreshing. I do not know anyone. I have nothing there and love to see in a few days time how much I can make happen. So let's see how I do it...

First, I make a toon that I feel most comfortable leveling. For me, this is a hunter. I level this character out of the starter area and I take training in herbalism and mining. If you have an account that can make a death knight do that first.

You can only have one death knight per account. I am lucky in that I have two accounts. I can have two death knights on the same realm. This is nice because I can do trades, run my lowbies through dungeons for gear and experience without having to use the dungeon finder or ask someone for a run.

I am a solo player. I do not like dungeons nor do I like having to ask someone to do this for me. Having two death knights is helpful because instead of taking the enchanting and tailoring on my bank alt, I can do it on my other death knight. Yes, I hate the death knight starter area, but you have to do what you have to do to make the gold.

For bank alts that are not death knights, it depends on if my character is Alliance or Horde. If Alliance, I make a human and run it to Stormwind. If Horde, I make a blood elf and run it to Silvermoon City. It is the simplest run to a main city in my opinion. You can make any type you like for your bank alt. You just have to get it to a main city. There are flight points to the main city, but you do not have cash for that! Park this alt near the mailbox and auction house to run from one area to the other easily when it is time for them to do their job!

Mail all your herbs and ore to the bank alt. You will have to send some cash, whatever you can afford to send (I usually half my monies from my hunter or death knight), for posting the herbs and ore on the auction house. Any green items my hunter does not use, I also mail to the bank alt. In no time, she has plenty of cash.

Now, for those of you that have a high level toon, or at least one of level 55, you can make a death knight. You have to have Wrath of the Lich King to make a death knight. You level out of the death knight starter area and you will have around 8-10 gold. Send some of that gold to your bank alt. Take mining and herbing on the death knight and go out and collect herbs and ore. You have almost 60 levels on this toon already; use it to your advantage! You should get to level 60 and get the flying for Azeroth for fewer headaches in gathering!

How do I use it to my advantage you ask? After you get your herbing and mining up to your max level (for your level), run Stockades! Run Deadmines! Run Shadowfang Keep! You can run lowbie dungeons (do the quests while there!) and sell all green items and blues that you pick up. Some blues are soulbound (bound to you when you pick them up) and you have to just sell them to a vendor. However, some are BOE (bind on equip) and you can send them to your bank alt to sell for you. Instant cash.

A little information about a bank alt if you do not have a death knight. You may have to level it a few levels. The good thing is getting to level 10 or even 20 is very easy! First, take enchanting on the bank alt. You can disenchant greens that do not sell and sell the dust, shards, and essences you get from them. Also, take tailoring and use all the cloth your toons collect to level the tailoring. Disenchant the greens you make that your other toons do not use.

Also, get the Auctioneer addon. Go to curse.com and search for Auctioneer. It is very simple to use and will be the best help for your bank alt ever! When you download the addon, unzip it and place it onto your desktop. Open your world of warcraft folder, open the Interface folder, open the addons folder and copy the files from the auctioneer folder you downloaded and place them into the addons folder, close it up and it will work when you next play the game.

Go to the auction house on your bank alt. Open the auction house window, find the scan button and do a scan. Do a scan every day for about a week. This will build up your auction database and give you a good estimate on what things sell for. When you get ready to place an auction, go to appraiser at the bottom and look at each item. Sell each item for a few copper less than the cheapest one. You will have a bankroll in no time!

This is how I make it on a new server. I will have gold, bags, armor, etc in no time. It will take a few days to a week or so. It all depends on how much time you have to play. There is no hurry so do your thing as you have time for it. In the meantime, you can revisit your other characters on your main realm.

I finished my Associate's degree on July 10th. I started my Bachelor's degree on July 19th. That was not a very long break in between, thanks to my school changing its attendance policy.

Learning teams are a very new concept in my schooling. You are paired with others, and you all do the work, then everyone is graded. If somone does not do his or her part, you are responsible to get it done. So far, my team is great and everyone is doing his or her part. I just hope that continues into the final.

In the game, I am not doing much playing this week. I just returned home from spending the last 10 days in South Carolina with my daughter and grandkids. I had a wonderful time. It was good to see and spend time with them!

I need to start working on my baby alts. I did manage to get my hunter from level 84 to level 85. I am working hard on getting my death knight to level 81. I am also trying to get her mining and herbing levels up to match her leveling level so she is able to pick/mine the nodes she comes across in Mt. Hyjal.

Most of my friends have stopped playing. They either went to Rift or stopped all together. I still have my small guild. It is not very active. I also trimmed my real-id list down to one person not including my daughter.

I plan to spend the next week or so in game. I am going to level some professions and some alts. I want to see how many I can get to level 85. Ha! right... well here's hoping!

Finishing Up...

One more week left and I will be done with my Associates degree in Psychology. Yay, me!!! I still have my A...woot!

It is a good thing I like school. I start my Bachelors degree on July 19. Only about a week break in between the two. Sheeeesh. I need more WoW time!

So, in the game... My hunter Cabriellä, is now level 84, almost 85. My mage Cabrìella, is level 84 almost 85. My death knight, Deysia, is still level 80. I have a new baby hunter, Cabryella, who is not so much a baby anymore... she is level 54. So my game time has not been too bad lately.

My daughter and I have started leveling a couple of Shaman. My shammy, Issera, is level 47. So is her shammy. It has been fun playing them. I have only had one other shaman and I deleted her at level 20. However, I am having fun right now with this one. We are leveling elemental.

The guild is doing fairly well. I am inviting people to make it grow. Trying to level it to get more experience is tough. The new people are all nice so far. My friend Brutal came from Kirin Tor to join us. He is awesome.

Life is good. Times are tough all over anymore. Friends are rare but loved. Family is close and loved more. Remember your raisin', live each day like it's your last, and love all you can. You will not get another chance! Do not waste your time on things that do not matter. If you have your doubts, then they probably do not matter as much as they should!

School

So, I finish my Associate's degree in Psychology in July. Hopefully, graduating with my 4.0 gpa. I will know more about that gpa after I am done with these math courses. I have around 13 more weeks on them. My last two classes are psychology and business management.

I have been contacted by my academic advisors about continuing on with my Bachelor's degree. I will be talking to them over the next few days and finding out all the pertinent information. If all goes well, I will continue on with my degree. I will know more about all that later.

In the game... I am working slowly on leveling my gnome mage to 71. She is almost there. I am also leveling a dwarf mage on Kirin Tor. She is 41. She is being leveled with my daughters' priest. We are leveling strictly in dungeons mostly. Yeh, I know, I hate dungeons. I am however, finding that I like them better. Leveling in them helps me feel more comfortable with them. I think my major thing was doing the dungeons on my hunter.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love my hunter! I just don't like her in dungeons. Heh, but I prefer her in the battlegrounds! LOL I love my mage and my warlock in the dungeons. I am leveling both of them in there. With a few battlegrounds thrown in. Heirlooms have killed the battlegrounds in my opinion. The heirloom wearers should be lumped in with the twinks! I do not mind going in on my twink with the heirloom wearers. But, heirlooms have now replaced the twinks in every bracket. It is annoying to say the least. It is about the pwnage and not the enjoyment of the bg's for most people however.

Life in general is good. Really good. I must say, I can't find anything to complain about and wouldn't want to anyway! Well, it is raining today :( if that counts for complaining!

Life is Funny

It takes all kinds to make the world go around. I meet new people in my classes. Some of them are in college and do not know how to write, speak, or spell correctly. Work gets turned in late. What is the point in going if you are not going to give it your all? You are spending a lot of cash for that degree.

I still have my 4.0 gpa. I hope to keep it. I am taking Algebra right now. I hate math and it doesn't like me very much either! LOL It is going fairly well for now. I have a quiz tomorrow. I hope that goes ok.

What can I do with my Associate of Arts in Psychology degree? I have applied at a mental health group home as manager. I haven't heard back from them yet. Will I be upset if I do not get the job? No, not really. I like being able to focus on my school work.

Speaking of meeting new people...I have been talking to someone from my past. We had a great friendship that never led to anything much. Just wondering if calling him would be a good idea? He gave me his number and asked that I call. Another friend took my number with intentions of calling but never did. Does that change how I feel about him? No, he will always be my friend. :)

Life is funny ... ain't it! hahahahahaha

Wow and Other Fun Things

It has been a while since I last posted. College is keeping me busy and so is the game. It has been a while since I did the battlegrounds and I have been doing those again lately. I do not know what it is about them that I love but I really do love going into the random ones. It beats dungeon running for me. Of course, we all know I hate dungeons!

I did get my death knight to level 80. Then they went and changed her spec to tanking. I don't like dungeons and I certainly do not want to tank! She is still horde and on the Zangarmarsh server. My daughter loves her priest but wanted to get back to the ally side of things. We have come back to Kirin'Tor and I am playing my hunter again. She managed to pick up the Headless Horseman's Reins... yay!

I am also leveling some alts in the battlegrounds. I still have my twink there but the queues never pop. Twinking I guess is dead for now. I hear it may be making a comeback in Cataclysm. Here's hoping on that one.

I have many alts and have been leveling different ones through the battleground. I plan to do some research on Arena teams. That may be a little more than I want to get into in the game though.

All in all, its been fun to start back where we left off on the ally side of things. There are many classes overpowered in the battlgrounds right now. The patch made a big mess of things. I was doing well until then. All of a sudden, rogues one shot you no matter how much life you have. I just go in to die now! LOL I figure Blizzard will get around to fixing everything and the game will be fun in the bg's again. I still have fun, I just die more often than before!

A Trip to the Other Side...

My daughter and I have been playing horde. I have leveled my death knight to 76 and she has leveled her priest to almost 72. We both wanted to experience all we could of the horde side of things before Cataclysm comes out and destroys the entire world of Azeroth. It has been going great so far.

We are now just into Dragonblight and with her heals and my blood spec, we downed a couple elites with just the two of us. The last elite was level 74 which was at the time 3 levels above her. Everything went well right up until we died the first try. The second try with a little more planning we got him. We are trying to get these girls to level 80 and plan to start on leveling something else. We both have quite a few alliance toons but, we both wanted to try out the horde side, and we like it. We think we might end up neglecting our mains, or making these our new mains.

My hunter has been level 80 for what seems like forever. I do not even play her much anymore. I haven't done many dungeons so she is not geared. However, I am thinking I may research tanking on my death knight and give the dungeons a try as a tank. I already have a good healer to go with me. :)

Cataclysm Beta

Everyone is buzzing about beta. Everyone wants in on the fun. I was invited to participate in the beta. Yay! for me. It is great. Everything is changing and mostly for the better. I have some screenshots I will be posting later showing some of the changes I have found and I will post later about leveling in the new starter areas. Everyone else is about leveling new goblins and worgen or visiting the higher leveling areas. Me, I just want to try leveling in the new starter areas with the new quest lines and see how it is. I want to know if its faster leveling, easier to get to certain things that were previously strewn all around the Azerothian map. I will post here soon about my findings.

Psychology and What I Am Learning

In my psychology classes I am learning about myself. I have found out that I am what is known as an introvert. I did some reasearch and found this out about being introverted:

"Contrary to what most people think, an introvert is not simply a person who is shy. In fact, being shy has little to do with being an introvert! Shyness has an element of apprehension, nervousness and anxiety, and while an introvert may also be shy, introversion itself is not shyness. Basically, an introvert is a person who is energized by being alone and whose energy is drained by being around other people.

Introverts are more concerned with the inner world of the mind. They enjoy thinking, exploring their thoughts and feelings. They often avoid social situations because being around people drains their energy. This is true even if they have good social skills. After being with people for any length of time, such as at a party, they need time alone to "recharge."

When introverts want to be alone, it is not, by itself, a sign of depression. It means that they either need to regain their energy from being around people or that they simply want the time to be with their own thoughts. Being with people, even people they like and are comfortable with, can prevent them from their desire to be quietly introspective.

Being introspective, though, does not mean that an introvert never has conversations. However, those conversations are generally about ideas and concepts, not about what they consider the trivial matters of social small talk.

Introverts make up about 60% of the gifted population but only about 25-40% of the general population".

Midsummer Fire Festival

My hunter has done most of the Midsummer Fire Festival Activities. I have not killed Ahune. I hate dungeons and I hate the idea that I have to do them to get the achievements that I want. Oh well... Here is my hunter all dressed up for the occasion. She looks beautiful. :)

I am loving the friends real id thingy. I can play on any realm and still chat with my friends its great, cause sometimes ya just don't want to use vent!

Break Time Is Over... and Now We Play

So meet Cabriella... the new.

She comes from the beautiful city of Exodar.

I am playing with my friends on Nazgrel again. It seems good to be back playing. School gets tough for stretches at the time, but I can handle it.

So for the new Cabriella on Nazgrel. She is going with herbalism and skinning. She knows first aid, cooking, and fishing. She is working on getting her weapon skills up. I created Cabby three days ago. As of today, she is level 26. Her cat, a nightsaber from Exodar, is named KitKat.

I am leveling pretty fast. I am not speed leveling. Playing a hunter is just easy for me. I love it. My friend Bob on his mage, Alffy, ran me through Blackfathom Deeps for my first dungeon. I am thinking I may try going to the battlegrounds for a bit, and I am trying to convince myself to go into the dungeon finder.

This seems like a good way to welcome myself back to the game after a long break. I can't wait to see how long it takes her to level to 80 and if I can stick it out! That is the main thing.

I met a new friend, a warrior named Chicklett. She is new and I am helping her to learn the game. I hope I can be of help at least.

Well, off to the mountains for a camping trip and then back home for schooling. I still have my 4.0 GPA so I am doing good. I am half way through my Associates degree. :) Yay me!!!

Snow, Snow, Snow

Snow! We have had quite a bit of it this year. We don't usually get much snow. We had a good snow last year. It will usually skip a year or so before we have another good amount again. It is pretty though. I love it. But, I am ready for the warmth of Spring. I just hope we have a Spring and not go right into the heat of Summer!

This is in my back yard. I still have about an inch on the ground this morning and it melted all night!

It was a heavy snow. It caused some trees in my back yard to break. Poor birds, they won't have anywhere to hide now with the trees gone. They flocked to my bird feeders on my back deck. They love it! It seems good to be able to have bird feeders and decorations on my deck and decorations in my house! I can't say I like plain walls much or teenage-like posters on the walls. :) Give me decorations! Anyway, here are some pics of the birds eating at the feeders...

I haven't been in the game much lately. I hope to change that soon. School has kept me busy and I spent the night at my daughter's house over the weekend and played with the grandson. He is such a cutiepie.

Leveling and Other Game Stuff

We changed the name of the guild back to Spirits of Retribution. Since all the old crew have come back together. We are steadily growing and have several new level 80's that have joined. Running dungeons shouldn't be hard to do from now on.

I am having to level Weelocke my gnome warlock. She was level 37 and I maxed out her professions at 300. She has alchemy and inscription. She has to get to level 50 to train those professions again. Sooo, I am on a leveling spree with her. I used to hate playing her. I have gotten her to level 40 so far. She has actually turned out to be quite fun. I am enjoying playing her. She does monstrous damage and her pet can tank anything! So maybe getting her leveled up might not be as bad as I thought it would to begin with.

Everyone has moved their mains to the new realm and joined the guild. We have I guess around ten to twelve level 80's. Hopefully we can do some ten mans soon. I have never done one of those. :)

School is going great. I still have my 4.0 GPA. I graduate in April of 2011. That isn't really that far off. Lol. Yay, me. I love my classes. It is hard but good. I can tell my memory is a lot better than before. Using my old brain whipped it into shape ... somewhat. hehe It's all good. As long as I learn something, I am not complaining one bit. Meeting new people in class and enjoying the daily life of being a student and mom. Can't beat it.

Soooo, How Is Life Treating You?

School keeps me busy. Psychology classes are great but, I can do without Sigmund Freud. Personally, I think he is an idiot. But, anyway.... I am learning why people do things they do... like drinking and smoking and what it is they are trying to compensate for with these activities... umm yeah... but what they are really getting in the bargain isn't worth it.

The game... leveling a Pally on the PVP realm. Leveling on a pvp realm is always fun. You are running along questing, minding your own, when out of nowhere someone attacks you and you are dead. One hit! Dead! I don't get it??? If you are 20 levels over someone what do you get out of killing them? It isn't my kind of fun. I don't mind the death part or the running back to my body to rez and die again. I just don't get what you get out of killing someone that is so much lower level than you and then camp the bodies? I mean you killed me a lowbie, you have to wait until I rez so you can do it again?... that does something for you?...Geeez, Dude, Get a life! hahaha now that that is out of my system...

Leveling the pally with my daughter's priest... we are level 65 and 64 respectively. It is a pretty great combo. Well, until the 80's come and set up camp...yeh yeh, I am over it....moving on hehe

Doing pretty well with the economy on the new realm. Big realms with a queue to log in, have the best economy or at least this one does. Nazgrel and Kirin'Tor are very poor realms compared.

We have started running dungeons to get Cab her gear, because my gear sucks big time. Last night, she got the Staff of Trickery. A very nice purple staff. I bought a 300 gold enchant to put on it as my enchanting isn't high enough to do it myself. We ran Violet Hold for that one and we ran Utgarde Keep for a bow that didn't drop. Oh well, maybe next time. It has been awesome running with Sinnadyn and Drossard (Lethalor) again. They are my two best friends in the game not counting my daughter. Drossard talked an 80 mage into joining our guild and we hope to do a lot more dungeons.

Love is in the air... yes it is that time again... in game the Valentine's Day festivities are underway. I am trying to do them when I can and it is not my favorite holiday in game. I do have to say, I want a shot at the level 80 trio they added to Shadowfang Keep... that is one of my favorite lowbie dungeons and I would love to tackle these guys ... hopefully our guild will do that soon. In the meantime, I will keep leveling the pally, death knight and working on Cabby some decent gear. Yay! for good friends and loads of fun!

More Gaming and New Classes

I started new classes this week. Not so bad actually. So far I still have my 4.0 GPA. I am happy about that.

Gaming:
We have been leveling the baby alts on the PVP realm some. I decided to make us a guild. With help from my friend Jesse, I named it Of Old Friends. I love the tabard. It is brown and white; rather neutral colors I think.

We decided, since we are on a PVP realm, we needed to make Death Knights. We put our lowbie alts on hold and created the girls! LOL My friends are cool like that. They feel comfortable playing girl toons and I do not mind at all. The Draenei (Kastrina) is my friend Bob. The Human(Sugarbush)is my friend Jesse. And I am the runt of the pack- the Gnome (Tinette).

We managed to get out of the starter area on the second night of playing together. Then we take some time to level our skills a bit. We have to gather stuff while we play or we do not have any gold coming in to finance our toons.

The very first quest, we get attacked from the sky by the horde. They kill my friend and I try to attack him but he runs! Little chicken. Another kills me later during the same quest. They wait until we are split apart to attack us. Anyway, two are waiting as we head back to Honor Hold to call it a night. One troll DOT's me up as I run through to the inn. I die as I reach the innkeeper. Stupid DOT's! That is a picture of my bones. LOL I already see, this is going to be fun.

A Heart for You

This heart of mine belongs to you now
It is a strong heart; made that way over the years
By finding and losing what it thought was love
But nothing ever touched this heart the way that you do
It is always happy to see you
Your smile makes it melt; your eyes mesmerize it
Your touch can set it on fire; your gentle voice soothes it
This heart is a good heart
Not too many scars that are visible
Or hide the goodness inside
It tries to see the best in everything
It is not a hateful heart
It will never hurt you in any way
It is an "old" heart
It has lived several lifetimes inside this body

It "knows" what can happen

Outstanding work! Every class I teach there are one or two exceptional students who are a genuine pleasure to work with, and you are one such student. You clearly have a strong grasp on the subjects we discussed, and it showed in your exemplary grades. It's a pleasure to have students of your caliber in the class, because your classmates and I all benefit from your ideas and knowledge. Keep up the great work!

This makes all the hard work worth the effort. :)

Finals are over... gaming begins...

I took my finals this past week. I do not know my grades yet, but nothing was absolutely too hard.

My friends have made new toons on a different realm. You know me, I am all over that! I made a new Cabriella. She is a Draenei Hunter. No Night Elf this time. I am kind of tired of the Night Elves. My friends Sinnadyn and Lethalor both made warriors. Sinnadyn made a Dwarf and Leth made a Draenei. These new toons are on the PVP realm of Arthas. This will be interesting. I have never played very far on a PVP realm. I hear ya have to watch your back.

My friend Sinnadyn started his toon first, so he lends me some cash to get started. Thank you Sinny, you are the best!

Cabriella is cute. She made it through the starter quests on Azuremyst or at the crash site rather. Here she is:

Yeh, I know, she is in Auberdine. That is the most recent picture of her. I didn't take a starter pic of her. :(

Anyway, she quested alone trying to get to level 10 to get the pet. I already knew I wanted a bear. I hear there is a Spirit Bear coming in Cataclysm. I want to be ready!

The quests in Azuremyst are quite different. I can't say I like that area much. This quest has to be my favorite. It is called the Totem of Coo I think. You get wings to fly:

I must say, Blizzard has certainly made the beginning levels easy. There are all kinds of things that pop up now to tell you what to do next. Little mini boxes that explain a lot of things that were not there when I first started this game. It is great. The starter areas have all been changed to yellow so nothing there attacks you anymore. It is great! Just what an altoholic loves. :)

Cabbie hits level 10. Yay! I can learn to tame pets now!

So Cabbie heads off to Exodar. She has to go talk to Kella Nightbow about how to tame a pet.

Now, I know how to tame pets. Before I can tame the one I want, I have to learn to fish so I can feed it. I am not buying its food. And if I am going to fish I have to be able to cook. Buff food later on is the way to go!

Then I get to Journeyman Fisherman: I wanted to get this level in fishing so I can do the fishing quests in Auberdine because I plan to go there to quest after I do some of Westfall.

Cabbie also learns a couple pets that were waiting in the mail when I got to Exodar. I bought the Collector's Editon of the Wrath of the Lich King and I get a Frosty pet on all new toons!

Her Majesty

That is the bear I tamed near Ironforge. Mangeclaw, it used to be a level 10 but now is level 11. I was disappointed when I got there, luckily I only had a few bubbles to go to level 11. I just killed pigs and dinged and tamed. I named her, Her Majesty because she just is!

Then on to Westfall an quest. I have to have the Chicken pet. She looks so dorky doing that:

After Westfall, I head to Darnassus and do all the low level quests for rep so I can buy a Cat mount. I can get the "Going Down" achievement in Shadowglen. It is the easiest place I know to get it. I do it on all my toons!

Then I finish up there and head to Auberdine and start my questing there. That is where we are now, hanging in the inn in Auberdine.

I am all of level 17. The plan, to play tonight and tomorrow as much as I can. New classes start on Monday. "Research Writing" and "Psychology:Why we do what we do". Sounds interesting huh?

The hustle and bustle is over. Time now to relax and get ready to get back to my studies next week. Christmas was great. It is always fun to spend time with the family.

I got a new desk for my desktop computer. I love it. It has shelves and a drawer and my computer fits on it perfectly. I have not been on the game much at all. I have been enjoying the holidays.

I have been rearranging my furniture and doing some heavy cleaning. I finally got it all done and am ready for the winter. I will do it again come spring. I found some vanilla scented plug ins and now my house smells like vanilla.

All the Christmas decorations have been tucked away until next year. All in all it was a great holiday.

I hope to find some time, before school starts back, to play my game. I want to finish leveling some of my alts to level 80. Well, here's hoping.

Christmas break is finally here. I have two whole weeks of no school to rest my weary brain. I won't do it though. I have two projects due the week I go back; although I have started on them, I will finish them over the holidays.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May all your wishes come true. I am thankful for my friends and family. I apologize to any I have wronged in the past, regardless of my reasons at the time. If you feel I have wronged you, then I am sorry.

I plan to play the game while on vacation. I am excited to get some playtime in. I will be leveling on Vek'nilash. I have a new hunter named Ariandri and a priest named Januarie. I am multiboxing these two young ladies for the triple xp from the refer a friend. I get triple xp for kills, quests and reputation. It is different. Lol.

Christmas at my house on Christmas day. Chicken pastry, honey baked ham, collards, yams, and more(yum). I didn't want turkey again. So something different is on tap with the pastry. Maybe I won't have days of leftovers! Kelly and I can only eat so much!

Well, I am off to play a bit. Here's to getting all you want for Christmas. Sometimes a phone call or email will suffice to make someone's holiday special. Call or write someone you love today. If you don't tell them they may never know. They can't read your mind!

Not Enough Time To Play The Game

School is taking up most of my time now. I have a lot of work to do and I want to keep my good grades so no play time for me :( Even though it is taking a lot of hard work, I still love it. I want to keep my A's and am working hard to that effect. It is still awesome and I don't mind the hard work. However, assignments that cause my head to hurt really suck! LOL

Game time... yeh I have played some. I am leveling a hunter on Vek'nilash. She is level 28 and doing well. When the expansion comes out, I plan to level a Worgen Hunter. Shapeshifting might not be all that, but I like the fact that before shapeshifting the worgen look like humans. I wanted a human hunter when my hubby first gave me the game. (Yeh, I know, he isn't my hubby anymore, but I guess he always will be to me)

Christmas is coming fast. I have been cooking and freezing collards for the winter. (Yum) All the decorating is done, the family is coming for Chicken Pastry on Christmas day and all is well in the land of me! I don't think I can stand another week of left over turkey, ham and such so, chicken pastry is on the menu for Christmas.

I headed over to Meadow to see the lights (meadowlights.net). As always, it was beautiful. I stopped at the little candy store and bought some candy. Santa was there. Kelly had fun looking at the lights and she liked the train. She doesn't care too much for Santa. haha

Looks like I have some time for gaming this morning so I guess I am off to the land of WOW for some relaxing fun!

Thanksgiving: A Time For Family

Thanksgiving is almost here. I am cooking Thursday and my family is coming to eat. My kids, my mom, my grandmother and my uncle are all coming. I can't wait; it will be so much fun.

I have a 4.0 grade point average in my classes. I have the end of this week off for Thanksgiving and am off again at Christmas. I can't wait.

In the game, my daughter and I are leveling some new toons on a new realm. A friend of ours started a new toon on Vek'nilash and we followed to level there as well. As if I don't have enough toons as it is! It doesn't matter one bit, as long as my friends are having fun. I love anything going on in the game so it doesn't matter what I am doing.

I have been playing the game a little more than before. I am playing more on the Kirin Tor realm instead of Nazgrel. I am leveling some of my alts. I started leveling my paladin (Cayelia). She was level 59 and is now level 63. My daughter is leveling her priest (Priestleigh). She mentioned that she wanted to level our Death Knights on Kirin Tor. The DK I was leveling earlier is on Nazgrel. We decided to level my DK (Tinette) with her priest and her DK (Elvira) with my paladin. My DK is level 60 her priest is level 62. Her DK is level 59 my paladin is level 63. I think it will work out pretty well with this combo.

I am still doing the school thing. I have straight A's in my classes. Guess I am not so stupid after all. :) When I am done, I will have a degree and will be able to find a decent paying job. I am finding I am enjoying school very much. It feels good to my brain to work hard and grow, even after all these years. My daughter is taking Criminal Justice and she is also making straight A's. I am very proud of her.

My camping time is over for this year. We had to close up and winterize the camper for the winter. I love going up there. It is so peaceful and beautiful. I cannot wait until May to go back.

Thanksgiving is soon upon us and I have much to be thankful for. I have love-from my family. I have health. I am happy. Christmas will also be here soon. I have winter break from school from 12/21 until 1/4. I see more game time in my future!

I do not know when the expansion will come out. There are going to be some major changes in the game when it does. I hope it is not too drastic, but I think with the starting areas being torn asunder it will be. It will be like playing a new game entirely though, and that could be nice.

I want to get my alts leveled and will be working on that as much as possible.

Camaryn has had her name changed back to Cabriella. It is just a pretty name and I like it. She has been camping out in the Scarlet Monastery and running Headless Horseman runs every night. We have a good, solid group to run it with. Once in a while, we have to find a fill in for someone who could not make it that night. So far, it has been fun. Cabriella has only run this once last year and we died doing it. This year we have done well.

I hope to get our guild into more dungeons later this coming year. She needs some gear. I hate dungeons but am slowly getting more comfortable running them. Our guild is great and works well together. I look forward to them clearing all that we can in the upcoming year!

Not Much Game Time

With school keeping me busy, I am not having much time to play. I don't mind, I just miss it. I have been on the game long enough to do some brewfest things and got my little pink elekk pet.

School is still going great. I still have 100% in all my classes so that is a good thing. It really isn't as hard as I expected. Yay! Unfortunately, I have another big project due so I have been busy on that.

I got my hair cut today. REALLY short. I love it! It feels so good. I am putting a new picture up.

Hopefully some this week I will get to play more. I hear the new expansion may be coming out quicker than we expected. I don't know if I am excited about that or not. Destroying Azeroth to add new stuff and changing the starter areas will make for a totally new game all the way around but, I am not sure I like that idea. I like the old world like it is. I have been taking alot of screenshots to compare areas after the destruction is complete. So, we will see.

Brewfest

I signed onto the game on Sunday for the first time in over a week. I participated in the Brewfest activities. I am not a drinking person myself; to run around with those goggles on your head that simulate being inebriated was funny. I did the wolpertinger quest and got my little wolpertinger pet. I have to do a few more quests to get enough tickets to get the little pink elekk. It's too funny to see the little pink elephant looking things running around when you have had too much to drink. What you can do in this game, at any time, still amazes me.

School has kept me busy the last week. I had a major assignment due this past week and spent my time working on that and making sure everything was just right. I still have 100% in both of my classes and I do not want that to change. I am loving school more every day. It is the challenge that I have been needing for some time now. I was afraid my age would keep me from actually liking school again, but I am not finding that at all. It is great! I am thinking that going on to my Bachelor's degree and then my Master's might not be as bad as I suspected at first. Time permitting and life as well, I see a Doctorate in my future. :) My teachers think I have chosen the perfect course of learning for myself. So that at least is a plus. I have a lot of time and I can spend it learning if nothing else!

I need to level my girls some more on the game but as long as school keeps me busy, the game will take second place to that. I am not complaining at all. I really am having fun... so far. :)

More Adventures In The Game

I have gotten my death knight almost to level 71. I haven't played her that much this past week. I have been playing and leveling a new Cabriella. Instead of moving over Camaryn from Kirin Tor, I decided to start over with a new baby night elf hunter and do with her from the beginning what I didn't do with the original Cabriella. I will not be leveling enchanting that is for certain. I am also leveling a baby gnome mage along with her named Tikatee. They currently reside in the inn in Stormwind and are both at level 28. It is really fun and I am taking lots of screenshots to preserve the memories of leveling in Azeroth now as opposed to when the destructiveness of Cataclysm hits and destroys all the lands as we now know them.

I will be making a human hunter and a worgen hunter when they become available. I am in no hurry though. I may even try the goblin race on the horde side. I do not plan to do any faction changes at the moment. I may do a race change when that comes available. Not sure on whom :)

School is going great. I have 100% in all my classes for the last two weeks. I am going into my third week this week. It is really something I am enjoying.

Last night I played on Nazgrel with Sinnadyn. He played his druid (Layzerface) and I played another toon I am leveling Farrah (Draenei Hunter). We played around Astranaar for a couple hours and I gained almost two whole levels. She is now almost level 26. It was most enjoyable.

I have become the proud owner of a guild. I was on Cabriella leveling and someone invited her to their guild. I said sure why not. As soon as I joined I was promoted to guild master and the dude left the guild after saying C-Ya. I had to laugh and then I got to work on seeing what was what with that guild. I have about 9 members that haven't been on in nine months and they were immediately demoted to starter ranks. I opened a guild bank tab and ran some dungeons to fill it and opened a second one and it is now almost filled. I put all my alts in the guild, my daughters alts in the guild and some of my old guildies alts are now in the guild. It's like coming home. The guild name is Crafted Heros. We have a bright purple tabard. It's great! And it isn't a bad name really. Lol :) So once again, Cabriella's Corner now has a Cabriella toon that it can once again stand for. Grats to myself on moving on and letting bygones be bygones. I am a happy little night elf! :P

School and Gaming

Well, my first week of school is over and I am now starting into my second week. Grades came out today for last week. I have 100% on all my grades in all my classes. I am so happy. I was hoping game time wouldn't impact school to the point I couldn't play much. I am happy to say that didn't happen and I did really well.

In the game, I got my Death Knight to level 70. She went to Northrend and quested in Valiance Keep, a couple other places, also the airstrip area(which I hate) and has now been parked in the inn waiting to go to Amber Ledge. I am finding I love playing her and that is saying alot. I didn't think I would ever like playing a Death Knight this much. I still love my hunter and mage though, so no plans to make her my main.

Off to do the homework thing and then to bed for early classes tomorrow.

First Week of School

This has been my first week of school and it has been absolutely great. I never imagined I could like school as an adult as much as I did while I was a child. In less than 20 months I will have my Associate's degree in Psychology.

In the game, I am leveling my Death Knight. Her name is Cayelia. She is already level 66 and questing in Nagrand. I respecced her Blood and found a good rotation and she never loses much life, unless I pull too many mobs that is. One on one she is great. I am loving playing her alot more now than I did before. I even made enough gold to purchase her flying mount. Camaryn, my main is on a different realm and I didn't have her funding to buy the mount. I had to earn it on my own. Camaryn is on the realm Kirin Tor and my friends are wanting me to move her back to Nazgrel and join their raiding guild. I am not a raider. I am not sure how I would do in a raiding guild. I love my alts too much. It was sweet of them to even ask the guild to let me in and I promised them I would think about it. If I move her back, I am renaming her back to Cabriella. I changed her name when I moved her to the other realm but am now ready to go back to the name she originally started with. It was personal reasons that I changed her name but those reasons no longer matter anymore. Let's just say I got over it and am moving on.

I enrolled in college full time. I am excited about this move in my life. I will have an Associate of Arts in Psychology degree in about 20 months and then it will be on to my Bachelors degree. I start classes August 24, 2009. I also got my hair cut even shorter and also changed it to strawberry blonde in color. I love the cut, but am not crazy about the color.

As for Wow, I have been leveling some of my alts a bit and trying to get rid of some of those low level ones that I have strewn across many realms. I do not know how I got so many. I need to level my mage on up to level 80. She is currently at level 65.
I also have to work on her tailoring and on Camaryn's enchanting. Both are high in level on their professions but not maxed out.

I am trying to find time to play more and now with school I will have to get myself a routine going. I think it will be worth it :)

A Very Happy Birthday...

Today is my birthday. I am 47 years old. I am spending it with my grandsons. Family is very important to me. I promised my grandsons they could come spend the summer with me when they got out of school for their summer vacation. They had been looking forward to it since I got my own place way back when. I had told them I had to have my own place first since my daughter didn't have room at her place when I stayed there. We have been having alot of fun.

As for the game, I have played some, but not as much as I would like, since the kids have been here. I did manage to get my son interested and he has downloaded and installed the game and is in the process of creating a character. I see more game time in my future as I introduce Azeroth to him and his wife. I can't wait.

I have been playing my mage again and also playing my death knight. I love my mage, she is arcane specced and has been since I first started playing her. My death knight... is just ok to play. It isn't really hard to play her and I think maybe the melee kind of fighting isn't the best style of play for me. I love my hunter and my pet tanking is awesome. I miss that on my mage, but I love playing her anyway. I tried a warrior once and it wasn't for me. I also have a level 59 pally but like the death knight... I just can't seem to get it. I have struggled through the levels...But, I will keep trying and hopefully I will get an understanding for this playstyle. Or well, here's hoping.

I have alot of alts. I like playing them in the early stages, the leveling to me is addicting. I don't mind the same quests over and over. I actually like it because I know exactly where to go and what to do. I have too many alts though to fully get a good understanding on how to play them as well as I do my hunter. Since my hunter is level 80, I plan to take each alt to that level and maybe doing so one at the time, I will better understand that class. Playing this alt then that alt does not help the situation at all. So maybe this new game plan will work out for me. Again... here's hoping :)

I have not been updating my blog much lately but will try to do that more often with more playtime. I am looking forward to it actually. I have a nine day vacation coming up here soon and after that... game time is on!!!

Being A Parent Of A Disabled Child

Means that I have a job, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
So don't tell me to go to work and things would get better.
How dare you!

Who is going to take care of her while I work? Do you know anyone that is capable and trustworthy enough? I won't leave her with just anyone. She is my heart and soul and if something happened to her and knowing she can't tell me, I would just die, literally!

Walk a mile in my shoes buddy and lets just see how far you make it.
If God blessed you with a normal child, then I am happy for you.
I have a handicapped child and she requires my full time attention.

Come back and talk to me when you have tended a handicapped child for 20 years.
Changing diapers several times a day. Bathing, feeding, cleaning up the vomit when she is sick, trying to figure out what is wrong when she is upset and can't tell. If your child can't speak to you and can't tell you what is wrong, yeh, good luck with that one.

And let's not even get into dating, or relationships for the parent of the handicapped child.
You are embarrassed to be seen with us in public so you walk 20 feet ahead and pretend you don't know us?...lol way to win points in the heart of that mom! NOT!!!

Staying home, its the normal thing for me. I don't go out, I don't run many errands. It takes me at home to keep my daughter safe and happy. I am told by those that are ignorant, that I don't have a life... but, I do and my daughter is it! Thank God for giving her to me and not you all. If you think having a life means going out, having fun by going out, and whatever it is you are used to doing when you GO OUT! I don't go out and I don't miss not being able to go out. I have my daughter and I think I am lucky to have been chosen to be her caretaker on this earth. I will do my best until she is with the lord. She is his child first.

My biggest fear... what will happen to her when I am gone? I am 46 years old, she is 20. Should something happen to me and one day it will.. what will become of her. How do I prepare for that?

Making ends meet is hard... It is just me and her. We live off her disability. It is by no means enough but we make do. I don't have insurance so I don't get to go to the doctor. She has insurance with her disablitly and I make sure she is taken care of medically and has all that she needs. Finding a doctor, dentist, or other medical giver for her is the challenge... We are sorry miss but, we do not have the training to handle your kind of child.. urrrgh. /facepalm

I am not asking you to change your opinion of me. I am asking you to think before you speak and put yourself in my place and then make an educated decision as to what you would do were you in my place. It is harder than you think to even get that far... now what if it was real life for you?

Camaryn and Level 80

Camaryn has hit level 80 and has been going into some older dungeons. She has joined a new guild called "Over The Hill Crew". It is a really great guild and the people are just awesome. She is doing dailies now and making her little nest egg. She learned her cold weather flying and that is a really big help. Not much else going on, working on some alts and other things.

My old guildies from the Nazgrel server have transferred over to my new realm and so we still get to play together. Such wonderful friends. Some of them have put their mains into a raiding guild and just brought their alts over to play. I can't do the raiding thing. It isn't my game.

Life is good. The grandbaby is growing like a weed. Pulling to stand and walking around the furniture and babbling words. I have been camping on the weekends in the mountains. I love it up there and with no one at home to answer to, I can go and stay as long as I like. I plan to stay longer than just weekends this summer. Kelly likes it up there too, so I see more camping in our future. Who knew being single with no man in my life could actually be fun. I haven't dated anyone since I split from my husband and that has been almost 9 months now. I have to say, I am just enjoying life for myself right now and all is good :)

Twinks & A New Game

You met Tessia, my twink hunter. She is doing well in the battlegrounds and getting loads of achievements. She does really well there and it's a fun game. My daughter formed a twink guild and named it "Got Twinks". She started it up about a month ago and it has grown to 80 members already. Who knew so many people on Kirin'Tor realm (a roleplaying realm at that) loved to twink their toons. We have a great group, that is on most nights, and go in as a premade and do really well. It is loads of fun.

In other things, Cabriella has switched to the Kirin'Tor realm as well. I didn't play her much on Nazgrel and needed her enchanting skills for the twinks so away she went to the new home. She also got a name change. She is now Camaryn. (No plans at this point to change the blog name) She still has not leveled to 80 but that may come later. Right now, to make it up to my guildies on Nazgrel, I rolled a Night Elf Druid. They needed a healer and it was decided that a Druid would be the best. I created Flowerchyld and have been leveling her with the help of my guildies. She is currently at level 35. It is a totally different game from playing a hunter but I really like her alot. I hope I can make a good healer for my guildies. They have gotten into doing endgame content and dungeons that I have never really been fond of, but I hope that as a healer, I will come to enjoy them more. That remains to be seen though.

All in all, life is good. I really can't complain.

The mini vacation was wonderful. The resort we stayed at was outstanding. One of the best I have ever had to pleasure to stay at. It was HUGE! It had 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, almost like a home. Beachfront was nice. It was cold out but I don't swim anyway and the pools were heated so no problem with pool swimming at all.

A New Look

So I did it. I went and got my hair cut. I wasn't sure what I wanted but the lady was very nice and together we picked out a hairstyle that I really like. She measured my locks after she cut them and she had cut off 16 inches of my hair! It is short but still at my shoulders. I love it! It feels great.

I have plans this weekend. I am headed to the beach. I have been invited to go and stay for a few days at a really nice resort at Myrtle Beach, SC. I couldn't say no! I leave Friday and come back on Sunday. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend and having alot of fun.

I have been playing some on the game, and have made a couple twinks. My hunter, you have met already. A mage, and a paladin. I plan to twink them out and run some battlegrounds. I have not leveled my main Cabriella at all. I seem to not want to play her much anymore. I think a name change for her is in order. That might make me like her again at least I hope so. She was named for my ex-hubby and I don't need to remember that stuff anymore. She needs to go out in the new content and explore and get herself to level 80. My guild thinks I have deserted them and I can only hope they understand that I am avoiding playing Cabriella for some reason and I need to work through it on my own. Like I said, I think a name change might help. So that is my next move. Now, what to call her. :) and what will I do about this blog? I do have a few readers who visit here daily and I guess I could make a new one and post a link here... will you follow me to a new home? I guess we will find out soon enough.

Tessia is my hunter twink. She was created to stay in the battleground. She can only go into Warsong Gulch because of her age but she really does well there. She went in first at level 13 and didn't do too bad, even against the twinks who like the babies and kill them first!

At level 13 she isn't the top of the charts but she isn't on the bottom either!

At level 10, I took her all the way through the Plaguelands into Ghostlands and up to Silvermoon to get the dragonhawk pet. Wow, what a trip and sooo worth it.

I ran her through wailing caverns for the Armor of the Fang set, Venomstrike bow and a few other dungeons for some other gear and now at level 19 she is doing great.

A big difference a few levels make!

She resides on a roleplaying realm. I do not roleplay. But, I have met some nice folks there Barik - my favorite paladin and Aegiria - the sweetest warlock ever!

A new year is coming bringing a new life and hope to each of us. Make the best of what you have and hold your family close and love them with all your heart. Be tolerant and forgiving to those you love most in life.

It was a wonderful Christmas and I loved spending it with my family. We really had a wonderful time.

I got something for Christmas that I have wanted for years. When my Dad passed away, my Mom gave me her old record collection. I did not have any way to play those records that I grew up listening to. I got this for Christmas, I am so happy!

I also got this as a replacement for the one I was using. I gave the old one I had to my daughter. It has a 17" screen and it is great for playing Wow.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year!

I plan to celebrate the holidays with my family and not spend it online. I have some friends that have really bad weather where they are, Vermont, Massachusetts, Michigan, Washington, Chicago and South Dakota, and I hope their holidays are warm and cozy. Dalaran

So Calyann the mage was the first one to make it to Dalaran.(Thank you Drossard, you are the best!) Only about 15 levels and she can port there herself :).

I also got a mage port for Cabby.

She got her fishing training done but that was about it so far.

She needed the "Frosty Shake" achievement and managed to find that one...

...but look what happened! Lol. Lot's of folks needed the achievement as well I guess. To get the achivement, you have to have a winter veil disguise kit that turns you into a snowman. It requires a snowball to use. You then go to Dalaran and dance as a snowman on the street. Wait for someone else to do the same with you and you get the achievement.

It was fun anyway.

Meet Moonmyst the Druid

Moonmyst is my druid alt.

The others were not able to get on and play the druids as a group. My daughter and I decided to level up our skills. We made the trek to Stormwind and first things first...

... a new look and an achievement!

Then its off to the machine to make me a Christmas elf...

...but someone thought it was Halloween and made my elf look silly!

My daughter and I went off into the world leveling up my herbalism and her mining and hoping to do it without leveling... I dinged ooopsy.

Then it was back to town and more festivities...

Then it was time to level cooking. I had already taken cooking in Darnassus but wanted to learn more while in Stormwind...

It's all in a day's work. It is much better to level this as you go than to wait until later. It makes it so much easier on you. First aid can help keep you alive. Skinning provides income, cooking provides buffs later on and fishing helps level the cooking faster plus adds nice stuff at the later levels.

On a side note...

My daughter is too funny when we are leveling together. She gets impatient with the role playing carried out in the game and the Lich King dialog was no different. She was like "OMG, hurry up please!!!" until it came right down to it then she comes up with this...

Guild of Druid Alts

Five or six of our guildies rolled Druids last night and knocked out the starting area quests. We made it into the next area questing but some of us had to go and one of us had connection issues. We plan to work on leveling these Druids by playing them as a team only and at least a few times a week for now, maybe more.

Meet Cayelia The Death Knight

This is Cayelia. She did all her death knight quests and made it out of the holding area. She is now learning mining, skinning and fishing. I need to get her levels of those up so she can skin, mine and fish in the areas she needs to quest in at her level.

I like the Helm she starts with but the next one you get is ugly so we don't show it.

As soon as she is done with her training, I will be taking her to Winterspring for the Wintersaber rep grind for the blue Wintersaber Mount. She should level some while she is doing this grind, then it will be off to outlands for her.

Battleground Question

My daughter made a statement when we went over to alliance side of the battleground from our horde characters. She mentioned that she did not want to fight in the same level battleground as our horde characters. (We have two rogues the same level only alliance) I asked her why? She said because I don't want to kill the same guys I fight with over there! Hmm... I never thought of it that way. I always kind of had the BRK attitude in the battlegrounds, I never really think of them as people, I think of them as standing in the way of my objectives.

I made a little horde hunter and named her Shaydian. The horde side of world of warcraft seems to be more peaceful. I don't know why. I really do like it alot.

My daughter made a Blood Elf Priest and named her Priestleigh. Here we are on our new mounts.

We have leveled them to 39 and have spent the last couple play times in the battlegrounds. It is alot of fun.

On another note, I took Calyann into the battleground again. Boy is it different this time. You know you are in trouble when right at the outset you are rezzing in the cemetery and this is what it looks like the rest of the time in the battleground.

Umm, I think I will pass on any battlegrounds that the death knights can go into. That is just no fun. There were 7 alliance to 15 horde players and they were mostly death knights. When you die right out of the gate and stay in your graveyard for the remainder of the fight, that is not fun. Lol. At least they got an achievement!

I guess that after the first of the year, I will start looking for my own apartment. My baby girl does not want me to move from staying here with her and my grandson. I love being here but it isn't like having your own home. I am tired of feeling like a roommate. I have felt like a roommate for the last few years and I want my own place to decorate as I see fit and be able to relax in and call home.

I want to cut my hair but I am scared I will not like it. Right now it is almost waist length and I would love to go short - very short.

I hope it snows... alot! Ha ha, we do not get alot of snow here in North Carolina. We have gotten some good storms but not often enough.

I wish I had a fireplace, I really miss that.

I don't have room for my Christmas tree, I love putting one up and looking at it until after the new year.

How can one person make your life so wonderful yet another can cause it to be the total opposite?

God gave me my handicapped daughter for a reason, I do not question it, I just take care of her for him. I love her with all of my heart and soul. She loves me unconditionally. Would that all of the people we associate with in life be that way.

What makes us always doubt ourselves? When you do something major in life, why do you second guess your decision?

Yellow is my favorite color. Cinnamon is my favorite flavor. Apple-Cinnamon is my favorite scent. Autumn is my favorite time of year.

I have lost 20 pounds even though I didn't need to.

I love banana, bologna and cheese sandwiches. Ha ha!

I love the holidays. I love getting together with my family to eat and spend time together. I don't get to see most of them throughout the year because we all have busy lives but, come holiday time, I want to see them all. So Thanksgiving came and we ate our turkey feast and celebrated by spending time together. Now it is time to get ready for the Christmas holidays.

I am going to South Carolina this weekend to see my oldest daughter and my three grandchildren. I will be taking them their Christmas presents and spending some time there. My oldest girl wants me to move there and stay with her in her new house. That is something to think about but since my other children live here, I will probably just stay here. It is a long way to her house.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I purchased the Wrath of the Lich King Collector Edition. I got the frosty pet. He is adorable. I was planning on waiting until our triple xp is up in December to get the expansion but that didn't happen. I purchased it anyway, took Cabby up to Northrend to look around and went right back to playing on our baby alts for the extra leveling. So basically I have no opinion of the new world yet. I really only took a peek at the first place I went to which was some little town actually. I am not even sure of the name of it Valience or some such. I do want to go to Dalaran though.

I did make a Death Knight so did my daughter. We leveled them to level 58 in the starting area and didn't get to half of the quests there. We put them on hold as well until we can level them without the triple xp. I have to say I like them pretty much.

We made a couple of horde characters and have leveled those up to level 40. We will continue leveling these alts until we have to choose which we want to work solely on after the December 13 when our triple xp bonus runs out. It will be a tough decision.

I am thinking since Cabby is level 70 she will be brought up to level 80 first. I have all the outlands quests to do since as soon as she stopped getting xp at 70, I stopped doing quests. My daughter will benefit from this when she can go to outlands at 60. We will quest together and then be able to go to Northrend. As for our alts, I guess we will level those when we need a break from the higher level characters.

On a side note, the grandbaby is doing great. He is growing like a weed and eats more than any baby I have ever seen. He is a very good baby, he never cries much and is a total joy to be around. He keeps me company and keeps my mind off my real life problems. I have not talked to my exhubby any more, I figure he is happy with his decision and I am still trying to move on from that. It is slow going for me but it will happen eventually. I am just taking one day at the time.

Happy Anniversary

So yesterday was my anniversary. Since my hubby and I are no longer together it was not celebrated. He has moved on. He is interested in meeting someone new or has met someone new and I will abide by his wishes that we not try to work out our troubles. All in all, yesterday really sucked.

In Wow, my pally is now level 57 and is on hold for now. I am leveling a rogue. She dinged 31 last night. I really enjoy playing the rogue class. We can't level past level 58 because if my daughter hits level 60 the triple xp stops. I do not plan to get the Wrath of the Lich King as soon as it comes out. We have until December 12 on our triple xp and I see no sense in getting the expansion until after that time runs out. If I get it, I will want to play it and I need to use the triple xp to the fullest.

Real Life Issues

So real life issues have been hitting me hard. My husband and I have not been getting along and I found another place to go. My daughter and I are doing great and life is moving on smoothly. He is of the opinion he doesn't want to work things out.

No further details will be offered. I will not put my private issues up here for the world to comment on. Some things are just meant to stay private.

Oddly enough my WoW time has decreased dramatically. I am hardly ever able to play anymore. I spend alot of time with my new grandbaby and I am loving every minute of it. I used to play while my husband watched tv but now I find the new grandbaby just way more fun! Plus, he will grow up and I will find my way back to playing.

I did manage to get my baby girl to play and with the refer a friend bonus we have managed to get two characters to level 46. She made a hunter and I am leveling my pally. There are drawbacks to the refer a friend...

1. You get triple xp for kills and quests. That is great. Makes leveling way faster but...you fly through the levels and outgrow zones really fast. We find we have to leave the zones without finishing all the quests because they turn grey to us.

2. Leaving the zones early you don't get to level your professions as you go. You leave too soon and your profession level is still in it's infancy.

3. My daughter is new to world of warcraft and with the triple xp and faster leveling it is kind of hard for her to learn all she needs to be the best player she can be. She is doing really good though.

4. For every two levels she gains, she can grant one of my lower level characters one level. I so far have been splitting the levels between my lower alts. So I will have the same disadvantage that she does. My lower level alts will level but I will be at a loss as to how to play them well.

5. Triple Xp Rocks though. You really have to love it, if you like racing through the levels. You have three months to level and as long as my daughter doesn't hit level 60 we can level alts until the three months are up. The triple xp stops at three months or when she hits level 60.

So we will be leveling alts and having a blast and trying to learn all we can during this faster process. Wish us luck!

So my mage has hit level 49 and she is coming along nicely in the leveling department. I decided to hit the battlegrounds on her and see how much dying I could do. I love the gnomes, they are too cute and I wish they could be hunters cause I would be all over that!

My little mage is specced Arcane. Yep, the spec no one does much of. I love it! It fits my play style and works for me. You can see her here.

My BFF (thats our picture up there) started out as a fire mage, I started out arcane changed to frost and went back to arcane. When my friend saw my dps, he respecced to arcane as well. Both of us in the battlegrounds, arcane explosion on the enemies, too awesome to say but I do have a screenie.

Going Back To School At My Age?

I am considering going to school for Therapeutic Massage/Massage Therapy. Since my daughter was born with CP, I have thought alot about it. Well, I am 46 years old and my memory isn't at all what it used to be so that being the case.... am I too old?

I would love to take classes and start an adventure towards a new career. I have been a mother since I was 17 and with four children going back to school was out of the question. Now that my children are grown and only the handicapped one is at home, I have the time to do it so should I?

I am looking for any opinions here and if you say yes then thanks for the encouragement. If you say no, then please follow it up with reasons why I shouldn't.

I have been hoping that my baby girl would have my grandson today. She is due any day now, but no such luck on sharing his Nanna's birthday.

I have not been on wow in a couple of days. I have been sick. Also, I have been working on my graphics for my scrapping blog and shop. I hope tonight I can get back to the game.

I bought myself a birthday present, some extra memory for my laptop, and hubby installed that for me. Maybe just maybe my game will run faster for me.

Aside from my scrapping and in Wow, I have now gotten my little gnome mage to level 41. She is so much fun to play. I have chosen to go frost spec and my best friend in wow has gotten his mage to level 41 too and has gone fire spec. Together we can freeze them in place and burn them down so to speak. I got my mount for her, I went with Darnassus rep and a cat. I just can't get into the noisy, clanking chicken to ride around on! We really have alot of fun questing with these guys. We have alot to learn and I haven't spent as much time reading blogs about mages (I really need to do that!). I hardly ever play my hunter anymore. She is just languishing waiting for the new expansion and level 80. Maybe by the time the expansion arrives I will have two characters to get to level 80. Here's hoping!

Hello, My name is Cabriella and I am an altaholic!

I have way more alts than my friends. Probably more than anyone in the game, but hopefully not. I love to play the younger characters. They level so fast and I am addicted to the leveling process. Sometimes I just like to play alone. Not often, but sometimes. No offense to anyone, even my friends. Most of the time I like playing with my friends.

Since Cabriella hit level 70 I have found out quite a few things about my playing WOW. I do not play Cab very often. I only play her when:

* A guildie needs a run through of a dungeon or some help.
* A guildie needs an enchant.
* Our guild decides to run an old instance.
* I decide to run an old instance alone to collect some possible gear for one of my alts. and normally I find someone hanging out around an instance and they need help, I offer to run them through. NO CHARGE! and they get to collect all the loot. I do not mind helping and it makes me feel good about myself. I would feel badly to say ok, I ran you through you owe me!

I have not done any of the quests she has left in Outlands for the gold.

I have not ran any of the new instances nor have I done many of the old ones.
When Cab stopped getting XP, I pretty much stopped playing her. I have alot of quests left in Outlands for her to do when the expansion comes out and she can level again.

I have not done any of the dailies except maybe a few of the cooking/fishing ones for the recipes for her.

I have found that I like getting the xp. I did the Frostsaber mount rep grind, but there ya go, it was a reputation gain and almost like getting xp. I am not in the game for fabulous armor. Neither do I need alot of gold, nor do I want alot of gold. If I need gold on an alt, Cab can go grind for it, but mostly with all my alts I send all items and collected things to my bank alt and she sells them and she takes care of the money for the whole group.

I am not that competitive that I have to have great armor. I did do a few battlegrounds and got a few pieces for her, but that got old.

I AM a casual player. I know some folks say they are casual and maybe that means different things to different folks. But to me, casual means I play when I want to play, which alt I want to play and do what I want.

Stopping in the middle of what you are doing for a few minutes and it not being a problem is casual to me. In a dungeon, there is no stopping, you have to move on for the sake of the group and finish without dying if possible. I personally don't like dungeons. I can and will do them but I don't really like them. The ones my level 70 can blow through alone are fun to do but when I have to have a group I get a little antsy. My guild is great in groups, but we are hardly ever on at the same time and it is hard to get groups for a run in anything. I am not complaining just stating a fact. I love my guild and my guildies. They are a great bunch of people. I have managed to pass my altitus along to three more of them and they are leveling along with us. We are all about the same level right now, but my friend and I are gaining on them since they are on less often than we are.

I do not play alone. I have a good friend that plays with me every night. We quest together and have for a long time. His play style is very similar to mine. We are currently leveling our mage alts.

Playing a new character, learning its ins and outs, gaining levels, doing quests in a different area than before, is all like a whole new game. I guess after I have done it all, then I will have to find something new in the game to do. But, I have a long way to go to get to that point.

And that my friends is where I am in the game at this particular point!

Isn't She Lovely...

This is my daughter Kelly. She is 19 almost 20. She has Cerebral Palsy and is totally disabled. This is her first prom! She was so excited. And she just looked so beautiful I had to post it here. I am so proud. She is the light of my life. Kelly can't talk and walks very clumsily. She is totally dependent on someone else to take care of her. She is like a two year old. She is a full time job but she is so worth it!

Running of the Bulls

Of course I participated and had a blast! I even convinced my guild mates to attend. My best friend and guild leader and his son attended. It was an awesome turnout and much fun. The guild filled to capacity and then some. There was dancing and a conga line. There were baby cows galore! People (like me) were there 4 hours prior to the race. I had created Mooina days before and logged on to see who may be about. To my surprise there were around 10-15 others already on! Of course I stayed and got into contact by vent, with my guild mates. Two showed up and we proceeded to dance, play some simon says, participate in spelling out BRK, just hanging out waiting for the race to begin.

BRK showed up, so did Ratshag (no finer orc can be found anywhere!). Hecatuul handed out shirts to those of us early enough to get one! Thanks to him for the hard work!

Finally the race begins, the lag gets us at the first hill and the baby tauren pile up. We move on up through the barrens, my guild mate dies in Camp Taurajo and tries to catch back up but can't, in Orgrimmar (I just missed the first zeppelin and had to wait for the second one), past Undercity through Silverpine following the path of dead bodies and skeletons. The mage at Dalaran got me and I died but rezzed and carried on. Through to Arathi and a raptor got me the next time. Rez and on toward Hammerfall. As I am almost to Hammerfall, I see everyone headed back! I don't know where they are going but I turn around and fall in! I find out we are headed to Iron Forge! I make it all the way to the front gates and beyond to the Military Ward before I die again. I rez and go a few feet and die again. They are headed to the tram. I get almost to the tunnel and there is a massive pile of bodies there. Rezzing and running back with as many ghosts as there were live tauren was a hoot! Making it through the portal to the tram only to find 5 or more allies there waiting to kill you was a sight to see. Bodies everywhere. I find then I am in the graveyard at the Eastvale Logging Company. I made it to Goldshire before I had to log off for supper.

Too Much Happens In Real Life...

... really sometimes real life just takes over and you feel like things are spiraling out of control. But hopefully now things are back to normal and play time can be had!

As for the guild experiment... it has been temporarily put on hold. We leveled to 17 or so and need to find time to get back to it.

Three of the original members of the horde anti pug group (myself included) have made three undead rogues. It has been a blast playing these characters while we wait for the original anti puggers to come back to play. My undead rogue is level 7 and named Darklass. She jumps like a frog and that eating thing they do after you kill someting is just discusting! Gotta love it!

I have been leveling an alliance rogue on my normal server. This is my first male character and I made him and named him after my hubby. Hubby's name is Cabe my new character is named Caybe. He is totally fun to play.

I have way too many alts and I am trying to level up all that I can before the next expansion comes out. Only because I don't want to have to level up sooo many levels later on each one.

Well, that is it for now. I hope to add more later and keep up to date on this blogging thing.

Horde Hunter Pet

Well my friend made it to level 10 on his hunter alt on the horde side. He got his hunter pet quest done and was ready to tame his pet. He had already made up his mind. "I want a ravager!", he said. "Well ok then, let's go get you one". So off we go, two nearly level 11 hordies off to get a ravager from Bloodmyst Isle. We head out north of the crossroads. So far so good. Then out of the barrens, through the guards that my alliance characters have to skirt through the fence to avoid. On up towards Ashenvale. Hmmm, a horde camp ... wait no ruuun! It isn't horde it's those danged 'ol devil looking guys. Sheesh, we made it ok by that one. Oh there is the horde camp. Anyway onward to Ashenvale, wait someone just shot your pet with an arrow, you better just run. So we sacrifice the temporary pet chosen to tag along with us. We run like the wind and no one but piggy dies. We stop and rez the piggy and I heal it and off we go. Up to the edge of Ashenvale. So far, so good. Nothing too bad has happened. We take a detour toward Zoram strand because as an ally I remember seeing what I think is a flight path there. So we pick that up and head back to the road. Down through the woods onward to Darkshore. Now this part will be tricky. We have to sneak up to Darkshore by way of shoreline, swim out to the dock and get on the boat. We take our swim and get to the end of the dock. We have to die and rez on the boat just as it is leaving. "I have never commited suicide before! This is too funny!", I told my friend. We laugh on the corpse run back to our bodies and as the boat is leaving we rez. We jump off the boat before it docks at Azuremyst and swim towards the mountain and around behind Exodar. We swim all the way around the mountain and get to the bridge and head on over past Silverpine (I think its called) and find the ravagers. He tames his pet and then we hearth. All in nights good fun! "We did it!" A fine, proud moment in our beginning horde history!

Our Guild's Anti-Pug Experiment

I took an idea from Two and a Half Orcs and molded it to fit our guild. The idea (you can read their's here) was to have a group of players get together on a new realm and all start from scratch and play as a group once a week. I tailored it to fit our guild and then pitched the idea. I got a great response. Our guild has a few level 70's a few mid 60's and lots of lowbies. Out of our guild members of 60 something we managed to make a 5 man team. Not too bad for a small guild I guess.

I asked for ideas from the members about faction, class, etc. This is what we came up with.

-We made alts on the server Zangarmarsh.
(So no one has help from higher levels or friends there)

-We rolled Horde.
(Being as we all have alliance characters and horde is unfamiliar it's like starting the game all over!)

-We ended up with a group of 5.
(and a greater bunch of people there isn't)

Rogue-Undead
Shaman-Troll
Hunter-Blood Elf
Paladin-Blood Elf
Warrior-Troll
Mage-? (boss and close friend of our rogue, haven't met them yet!)

Mage-Troll ( quit, didn't like anything about the horde)
Blood Elf-Priest? (haven't seen them at all so not sure if they are participating)

-We agreed to level to level 10 and meet in Ogrimmar.
-We run our little group on Friday's at 8 EST.
-We all agree to start with gathering professions at first.
-We hope to get enough with us to make a guild eventually but that isn't our main goal.
-We will take half of our gathered mats to sell for cash and half to keep for later professions.
-We will not level beyond each other more than one-half to one level.
-We will always share as a whole (kinda like you share all your things with your own alts)
-We are a group- not a single individual.
-We will start out in Ogrimmar and quest from there. (at level 10)
-Working on professions can be done away from the group night, as long as you do not gain xp and level.
-Fishing, Cooking and First Aid is recommended for all the characters.

I will be posting more as this rolls along and hopefully we will get some excitement going on in the rest of the guild and can maybe catch up any later stragglers before we all get too far in levels. (otherwise it will be no different than the guild we have now on the alliance side!)

We are going into this knowing most of it isn't set in stone and may have to be adapted. We will just see how it goes. As it is, everyone is really psyched up and has already been hard at work trying to get to level 10 before tonight. We will see how that goes. It seems like it is going to be loads of fun!

Saturday Night Invasions

Some of the guildies were in Wetlands questing. We get a call out that there are horde invading. We ride over and take a looksie. Not much happening. When the higher levels show up they all tend to leave. No Fun. So we head over to Auberdine. There are always horde in Auberdine. It's a daily thing. Sure enough. But for the first time that I have ever seen, the alliance have a raid group started and are killing them as fast as they respawn in the town. I wasn't going to join and even declined the first invite to the raid group. But some horde hunter thought it would be funny to snake trap my pet thus flagging me. Bad idea! I ask for that invite to the raid group from the same person that invited me the first time. I explained why the change of heart and set out to personally whip some horde patootie. Especially a hunter with his freakin snake trap.

During this adventure. I saw a weird glitch in the game. One of the Auberdine Sentinels was stuck in the ground with only her head showing. You could click her and she would speak to you. Needless to say it was quite an amusing sight.

After a while though the horde beat a hasty retreat. Except for one. He just wouldn't leave. He kept rezzing in the middle of town and dying over and over. I guess he finally left when his equipment was busted.

Pretty soon, some more horde came but they are trying to make it to the boat to Darnassus. Well, we follow them over there and pretty much watch them die trying to get through the city. Only a couple were level 70, a priest and a warrior. The rest are lower levels only two above level 10 the rest below. We watch as they die and rez nearer and nearer to the starting area for the Night Elves. Finally, they make it Dolanaar. But this is about the end. The priest dies and never comes back leaving the warrior alone with his lower level buddies. These lower levels just danced around the graveyard for a while then they left. The orc warrior decided to make a run for the starting area. I followed. He had a fast mount, but mine was just as fast. Not being familiar with the area, he ran around and around with me following. I wondered if he was going to do that all night. It was just him and me. Why not dismount and fight? No, he just ran. Ok, well we will see where you go. He took a wrong turn and ended up out on a limb, literally. I whispered my friend and he came to see the sight. It was too funny. Finally, I guess he figured he had had enough and he dismounted on the limb and hearthed. All that trouble getting there and having to hearth out. Not a good night for one orc warrior. But, I have to give him props for tenacity!

My New Friends- Eggman & Gengeoff

We managed to find two new guildies of most awesomeness. Eggman is a spriest and Gengeoff is a warrior. They are of the same age and when on vent they both keep us laughing. It is truly a fun time to hear these two tease each other and anyone else that happens to voice an opinion on whatever the topic of the day is with these two. I love it! They are both really good players and very valuable assets to our guild. I am thankful that we have them and appreciate all that they do for our guild. They are swiftly moving up through the levels while at the same time managing to have fun with the game. They are smart and attentive players and will answer any questions for our lowbies that they can. They are always willing to help with actions or advice. Thank you guys for being so great!

Black Rock Depths

We have been running some guildies through this instance for a few weeks now. It is a huge place. Not so bad for us at level 70, but for the guildies, it has to be a pain when if they get too close to them, all the mobs run past us at level 70 just to attack them. But, we manage ok. So we go into the instance, make it all the way to the tavern or whatever its called in there. The bar patrons are all yellow to us. Well, the guy we are running in here is supposed to talk to someone to get a door to open. Never having been in here before, I have no idea who is who and what is what. Somehow the guy ends up talking to the wrong person, or attacks someone and oh dip, it's on then. The whole tavern starts attacking us, both the top and bottom level. With two level 70's and his level 54 we still don't stand a chance. Too late, you done pissed someone off and he and all his buddies have politely kicked our butts! My two guildies die, somehow I manage to stay alive by being out of aggro range of them all even though I am standing right in the middle of it. The only way out is to hearth out. We decide the only way to finish this is to come back another time maybe they will forget who we are and we can be friends with them again!

Frostsaber Mount

So I have been working on this rep grind since July. It has been a long journey to say the least. I love this mount as it matches my cat Adara. I have not been in any hurry to get this grind done. I wanted to take it slow so I wouldn't get burned out on it and quit. Now that I have it, I totally love it. Each day of grinding, thinking that I would never make it, now seems not so bad. The last bit actually wasn't so bad since Blizz upped the reputation gained for each quest turn in. If not for that I would still be out there grinding away!
It is a beautiful mount.

Dungeons- Oh Why Do I Hate Them

I have never liked dungeons. Since the first dungeon I ever did was Blackfathom Deeps (the scariest place I had ever seen) I have hated dungeons. I feel all closed in and feel like I am going to get lost (mostly I do) or make a stupid mistake and someone call me a noob or worse. Is there worse? LOL. Well, I like the lower level dungeons now, at 70 I can run those babies all alone and it works for me. But the one's you have to have a group for... those I hate. How do you get over this and learn to enjoy the endgame stuff? Is it the rush of a group that I can't deal with or just the fact that other people make me nervous? Hmm I don't rightly know.

That Danged 'Ol Fel Reaver

I have helped to kill him three times now and I still don't feel I have gotten my revenge. Anyway, about Outlands... Hellfire Peninsula - I do not like. Zangarmarsh- I like somewhat. Blades Edge - nope don't like it. Nagrand- I haven't quested there yet. Yeh I know, I'm level 70, I should be done with all that but, no I am not. Nethestorm- no I don't like that place either but have quested some there. But I do like the Eye of the Storm battleground. If I would do all the quests that are left for me to do in Outlands I would be a rich little night elf!

Daily Quests? Nope haven't done them. Any of them. I don't know where to start and with my aversion to Outlands I don't know if I will.

So what do I do with all my time?

1- I am doing the Winterspring Frostsaber Reputation Grind- for the frostsaber mount and boy is it ever a grind. Update: This grind is done. I am the proud owner of a new Frostsaber Mount! Pictures coming soon.

2- I help lower level guildies every chance I get.

3- Jay didn't have the expansion and couldn't get past level 60. Now he has it and I help him and Sinn with outlands (and they know it's not my favorite place) but I still help 'cause I like helping my friends.

4- I run lower level dungeons and bring along folks I find hanging outside the entrances looking for groups. Then I run them again on my own. And no I don't take money for this. If I don't want to do it out of the kindness of my heart then I just don't do it. I do not use it as a money maker!

5- I have done some battlegrounds. They are hectic places and not so good for my blood pressure. Not a good thing to do right before heading off to bed!

6- I am reading and practicing some of the skills recommended by "the" Mr. Big Red Kitty. 'Cause he knows how to be a hunter! "I will not melee, I will not melee, I will not oh heck.... whackup .... sorry BRK. But I only hit it once :P I promise I am working on it, I really am!

7- Making alts- I have altitus. So many I can't play them all. And I love them all.

My Fourth New Friend- Sinn

Sinn is one of the ones who left the "other" guild when I did. He isn't to level 70 yet and I enjoy helping him with his quests to get there. He is in Outlands and will give me a shout when he needs help. I introduced Sinn to Jay and they get to quest together some and that works good since they are both the same level. Or I just help them both :) Poor Sinn, that Fel Reaver loooves him too. I know the feeling and I hate it for him. I guess some people are Fel Reaver magnets? He is a wonderful player with a good heart.

Guild Drama

I had heard of it but never experienced it... til now :(

Everything is going well in the guild one day and then the next its like a bomb goes off. What the freak just happened??? One of the guild leaders from the past returns and all is well for a while. He is actually a very good player of his class. But, after some time I noticed that the guild chat channel was getting to be a not so good place for neither children (our guild had some of those) nor ladies (and I consider myself one of those :P). The more I read in the chat channel the more disturbed I became. It was quickly getting to the point that I wanted to know how to block guild chat. I was told you can't. Oh well.

Well now, Lethalor had become the Assistant Guild Manager and he spoke up in officer chat about the children being able to read the chat and one thing led to another and then it really got ugly. Over the next few days some of the members (the ones doing the ugly chat) in retaliation, started making new alts with X-rated names etc. and joining the guild and chatting about things even more. I finally broke my silence and said something about it not being suitable for kids or ladies in the guild anymore and was attacked by the (guild leader from the past). He said that there used to not be any rules in the guild and that it is going back to that way to just deal with it. I said well that works for you but not for me and quit the guild right then. It had gone downhill as far as I was willing to go with it and I would just go back to solo.

Well, poor Lethalor was in the battleground when it all happened and soon he was out of bg and jumped in it and to this day I am not sure what he said but I do know he ended up telling the guy he was an arrogant @$$ and he left as well. I got a whisper from another couple of people who left when I did and they said if we found and joined another guild to let them know and they would gladly join. So we recreated Spirits of Retribution and now have over 60 members. Yahh!!! us. Guild drama.... who freaking needs it? On a side note...Jay even returned to the guild so it seems I am right back where I started only better!

Cabriella Hits 70!

Leth hit 70 before I did.

I had a whole level to go to get there. So I did it in one day. How? I will tell you how. In Shadowmoon Valley, at the Wildhammer Stronghold, there is a quest to kill ghosties. You can't see them until the quest giver gives you some Spectrecles. Then you see them. They are yellow to you. No aggro! Wow... I can kill all of these I want with no outside interference. And I can hit 70 right here in this little town of sorts. You got a plan girlie!! So I start killing and killing and killing.. well you get the idea. I ran around that town, up and down the stairs in that stronghold killing ghosties in every nook and cranny I could find. And then... I did it! Yah Level 70 for me.

Flying Mount? What do you mean flying mount?

Lethalor- "I am going to buy my flying mount."
Me- Your what?
Leth- Flying mount.
Me- Oh just great, how much?
Leth- Alot
Me- Oh well, it will just have to wait. Enchanting has eaten all my money and I am one poor little night elf. But go I want to see yours!

Few Days Later...

Leth- You really should get that mount. Then we can fly everywhere.
Me- It don't look like too much fun. What's wrong with the ground? (this chicky is afraid of heights)
Leth- Oh but it is fun and fast!

Outlands- I Care Not For You

My first impression of Outlands was - oh, wow, yuk. This is the ugliest place I have ever... wait what the freak just stomped me?? Something really big and ugly and mechanical. Making a god awful noise that only a mother could love and that's a maybe. Fel Reaver... what the freak is that? Oh, well he looooves me. He thinks I feel good under his foot!! Ok, so my first impression of Outlands was not a good one. Looking at the underside of a foot is in no way at all a pleasant experience! Maybe having to look over my shoulder all the time was what made me hate the area right at the onset. It kinda felt like a pvp server if I understand how a pvp server works. That big, overgrown freak jumped me daily, sometimes more than once a day! And thats with me watching for him. Imagine if I hadn't been watching at all! LOL

It's Just a Regular Routine

Each night questing and helping my friends made the levels go by pretty fast. I was leveling at least one level per day. When Leth totally caught up with me quest wise at some point I stopped questing ahead and just focused on helping Jay stay with us. When Jay stopped playing, around the time I hit Stranglethorn Vale, I would then find spots to grind. I would level but without completing quests. I read alot and found that I needed to take first aid, cooking, and fishing to go with my professions. I had taken skinning and enchanting. Skinning is great. Never do I leave anything after a kill if I can help it and enchanting just ate up all my money. Man, what a tough profession to level up. I know tailoring goes with it but hunters can't use most of the tailored items and I saw no point in pairing the two. I found out that I would get mail armor at level 40 so leatherworking was out as a companion to my skinning. So I just stayed with enchanting. I had read somewhere you could do well disenchanting and selling the materials on the auction house, but I found out the hard way that you had to level enchanting to disenchant higher level stuffs. By then it was too late, I didn't want to waste what I had already done so I stuck it out. I was heartbroken to find out the master enchanter was in Uldaman. Hurray for the Burning Crusade. The first guy I went to see was my enchanter trainer in honor hold when I got there! Now, I only do enchants for people who provide their own materials as I neither carry any of those around with me nor keep any in my bank. It is so costly and I am not standing on some steps somewhere yelling that I will enchant for someone. I have other things I can do for money. I only keep my skill because it took so long to get it where it is and I don't want the money I spent to get there to be considered a waste. Plus guildies all know that I enchant if they provide the mats and so it isn't a total waste. Then, there are also my alts I can enchant for!

The Compaq & Car Incident

When I first started this blog I mentioned that I had a Compaq laptop. I also said it got ran over by the car. Well here's that story:

My oldest girl was expecting her first child. She had been back and forth to the emergency room only to be sent home on several occasions. Her husband borrowed my laptop to play my deerhunting game (Yah Cabela's) while he waited in the emergency room for hours each trip. Well, on the night that she actually went into labor, he, the calm guy that he is, grabbed the suitcase, and laptop and headed to the car. He placed the laptop by the tire and put the suitcase in the trunk. He got my daughter in the car and made the loop around the circle drive and ran over the laptop on the way out of the drive. As soon as he did it he knew what had happened. He stopped, got the laptop and proceeded to the hospital. When he finally got around to opening it to see what damage had been done, he saw the screen had cracked a bit at the top but it still booted and ran and that was in May of 2000. I had already had it over 2 years and it went strong right on up until my hubby replaced it with my new one in 2006. Now my baby girl uses the laptop and as far as I know it's still going strong. Do I recommend you buy a compaq? If it hadn't been taken over by that "other" company I would say yes. But ....NO.

My Third New Friend- Shaggy

I met Shaggy on a ship in Stranglethorn Vale. One of the ships where you have to kill the captains. Shaggy is a warlock. A really good warlock. He, like me, preferred to solo and he had made it to Stranglethorn Vale mostly solo. We grouped and got the quest done and talked a bit and since he was on during the day when I am on we just kinda started hanging out and questing, not as much as Leth and I but some. He was very good to group with and I loved his guild name. When later on I introduced Leth to Shaggy in Felwood they hit it off real fast. Pretty soon we merged our guilds and and became good friends. Our guild was more a casual guild and so was Shaggy's. But Shaggy wasn't the guild leader in his guild. The guild leader of his guild was never on and I believe he started playing horde and eventually gave the guild to Shaggy. Therefore Shaggy and Leth decided to merge the two guilds. Jay didn't come with us. He went off on his own. It worked well for a while. They set up minor rules, got lots of new members, helped the lower levels and just started making the guild a good guild.

A Guy On The Dock Waiting For The Boat

So here I am on the dock in Darkshore waiting for the boat to Menethil Harbor. A nice young man (hunter) with a really high level tells me I should be using Mercenary Blades instead of the staff I am using. I ask why and he explains to me about stats.

Wow, this is all new to me. He is really helpful with his advice and I listen as he patiently tells me I need to focus on agility on my gear pieces. Well, ok. I tell him I really appreciate the help. Then he kindly asks me to join his guild. I told him no thank you but thanks again for all the advice. I added him to my friends and was told if I ever needed help or more information to just ask. Needless to say I had some new research to do on my gear and the stats needed for hunters.

I watched as he managed to level on up congratulating each level as he went. We talked alot and he would tease me by asking me if I was ready to join his guild yet every time we talked. I was level 70 before I ever saw him face to face again but we spoke often in chat. He was standing in Nagrand and I ran past him and hit the brakes... wait, was that? Yep, it is /poke lol /wave and we chatted away. I really love my friends!

My Second New Friend- Thanks Jay

Well I was in Wetlands and doing those croc quests there and came upon this warrior. Oh I admire those guys! I remember trying to level mine. So here is Jay in wetlands and I figure I will help him out. So we manage to work together pretty well and he invites me to group and off we go. When Leth and I weren't questing together then I was questing with Jay. We played well together too and since he wasn't online as often as we were, I mostly just helped him catch up to us. He even helped me catch up those old quests in Darkshore. He isn't much of a talker by my and Leth's standards but we got along well enough. Leth and I created a guild called the "Spirits of Retribution" and we three were the only members for a while. But pretty soon it started to grow a little bit.

I have to get a quest done for the guy at Maestra's Post. So, I run back down there from Ashenvale and he says he needs some hair. (I don't remember what he looked like, whether he "really" needed hair or not I can't tell ya, but I do remember he wanted some). This quest is hard, there are alot of ugly dead like creatures strolling around and as soon as I try to get the quest item I die. Finally I manage to get one, only to find out I need more than one. Dagnabbit, this bald guy sure asks alot of a one little woman.

Oh no, here come a couple other players, One is a hunter and the other is a priest. Well maybe I will watch and see how they do it. The hunter comes up to me and speaks. If I hadn't been so flustered by not knowing how to talk back to him I would have noticed "he" had a pet cat.

HONEY, HELP!! Someone is talking to me and I don't know how to talk back. I don't want to be rude. Honey's reason for getting the laptop with wireless is clear at this point- I am sitting beside him on the couch and he just leans over to help. Not having to get up and go into the computer room to help (and I need alot of it) is nice for him I am sure. And here I was thinking he just wanted me to be next to him:). Anyway we figure it out and this nice person is about my level (21 or so) finds out I don't know much about the game, tells me a few things, finds out I am trying to do this same quest and asks if I want to group with him and his son. I say ok and he invites me to group.

Wow, I am totally lost at this point but they seem so helpful and chatty that I immediately like him and his son so off we go. He asks me what kind of pet do I have. Umm, I don't have one. WHAT!, no pet. Oh you need a pet. Well so much for not looking like an idiot....After much of me explaining of what happened to my owl and him explaining what I need to do to get another, I go back to Auberdine and get a cat (name it Peanut after my cat) and from then on I was learning with my new friend all that I didn't know. He was very patient with me and explained all in detail for me to understand.

After I caught up with him in the basic knowledge of the mechanics of the game, we started helping each other out by researching things and hubby buying me books to help. He bought me the Master Guide Second Edition Strategy Guide and The Burning Crusade Strategy Guide. Also The Dungeon Companion I & II. Hubby even brought me home the The Burning Crusade expansion pack. I said I am not ready for that yet. But he assures me that his friend says that I will be ready for it soon.

Speaking of friends....My new friend sure did know alot. He asked if I had been to Stormwind yet. I said no, where is that. He promised to take me there soon. Imagine my shock when we finally get there and its the city of my first warrior girl. I told him to watch out for the canals if you fall in you swim forever trying to get out. I told him about my first try at a character and what happened to her. He laughed at me and said you can get out of the canals, but never showed me how and I just always stayed away from the edges anyway!

Well, Lethalor seemed to be online every night at the same time as me so we grouped up and played together. It became the norm if one of us was on when the other signed online to just invite, make a plan and go do it. We leveled together to 70 that way and still play the game as such to this day! He was the explorer and I was the quester. He would find new areas and flight paths when I wasn't on and I would quest there and then help him at night with his quests to catch up. Then he would find more new places and it was just a pattern we had that seemed to work. Leth was also kind enough to teach me how to use the auctioneer addon. He is always trying new things, pets etc. and then I just follow along if I like how it works for him. He actually made it to level 70 a day or so before I did. I guess I spend too much time helping others and dawdling, I guess you could say, around in the game. At any rate, he is ahead of me in the questing, new area finding and stuff at this point in the game. He urges me on to try new things like the battlegrounds and stuff in the game. He doesn't complain and never gives me a hard time about my altitus. I have even convinced him to make a few alts.

Where Did My Pet Go?

So Cabriella is leveling pretty well, with the help of some books (that I totally haven't read yet) that hubby picked up for me. At level 10 there is a quest for a pet. But after a while the pet runs away or something, he just disappeared. Had I not done the quest in such a hurry and kept the others until they disappeared I would have known it was coming. But, I hurried through them and the last pet I got was the one I thought I was supposed to keep. I remember thinking it would be nice to have something other than an owl. Oh well, then it ran away or left. Well, it was gone! Ok, I give up on the pet deal. Maybe more research is needed.

I finish questing, found the major city of Darnassus. Quest more and make it to Auberdine (Darkshore). I struggle through those quests and the ones that were too hard I just passed up. I couldn't do them alone and didn't know anything about how to go about asking someone and really was petrified to do so. They will think I am crazy and should know how to play the game. I saw alot of name calling and stuff going on in that chat box and I didn't want anyone calling me names like that. So I struggle on and make it to Ashenvale.

Today, I wonder how in the world I ever got as far as I did in the game. I know how to use the internet to find out what I need to know. But did I think to use it for this game? No, why? I have no idea, it just never crossed my mind at first. Now I live for blogs every day and keep my note pad by my computer in case I need to write down something I want to look up before my next play session.
